Because every project starts with a drawing, computer-aided drafting (CAD) technicians are in high demand. Nothing can be designed, constructed or machined without schematics and drawings provided by drafting technicians.
Architectural & Engineering Design is a College Tech Prep program designed to provide students with the experience, training and education necessary for developing the attitude and skills required for careers in engineering and design. First-year students develop skills in board drafting and basic CAD application for architectural and technical drawings. Second-year students receive advanced CAD training and design, as well as CNC machine processing. Students develop skills by completing a competency-based curriculum that includes many hands-on projects. The state-of-the-art drafting lab consists of 20 training stations equipped with AutoCAD, MasterCam, & Chief Architect 3D software.
Architechtural & Engineering Design provides graduates with the prerequisite skills to enter college in engineering, industrial and manufacturing technology, and CAD design. Besides getting a "head start" over their classmates, drafting students will learn skills they need for employment during and to enter college in Engineering, Industrial, Architecture, and Manufacturing Technology and CAD Design
