Program Description

Auto Body repair and refinishing on today’s high-tech automobiles is a challenging and rewarding career. In Auto Body Technology, students learn to repair and refinish damaged vehicle bodies consisting of metal, glass, fiberglass and plastic components. Students are instructed in the following areas: mechanical and electrical components, structural and non-structural damage repair and analysis, and plastics and adhesives; and paint and refinishing systems. Students have the opportunity to participate in Skills/USA.

Fees and Recommended Tools

Required program fees may include safety glasses, tool rental, workbook, technology fees and dues for our professional organization.  It is also highly recommended that each student purchase their own dual cartridge respirator (recommended for paint spray applications).  The Auto Plus store in Athens has agreed to offer a Gerson Model #8311P respirator at a reduced cost of $15.00 to our students.  You may also choose to provide another model equivalent to this respirator.
