Program Description:

Welcome to the Sports Medicine Program.  The student experience at Tri-County Career Center is a unique combination of textbook learning and real world hands-on experiences.  We apply Science, Math and Communication Skills to career opportunities.Our approach to learning challenges students to obtain their very best potential.

The Sports Medicine & Exercise Scienceprep program is designed to prepare students for a career in health care, sports medicine, fitness, and other related fields. Students will get hands-on training in health and physical fitness that will provide them with a "jump start" for college or a field related career. This course features a college prep curriculum such as Anatomy and Physiology. Students will work on exercise prescription, fitness assessment, health, and physical fitness. Students will also study injury and disease, rehabilitation treatment, and sport and exercise nutrition.

Fees and Recommended Tools

Required program fees may include workbook, technology fee, lab fee and dues for our professional organization. There will also be an optional Tri-County Career Center Sports Medicine Program polo if you choose to purchase this (approximate cost $20-$35). Students should also have a 3-ring binder and a notebook dedicated to this program.

Students should wear appropriate exercise/gym clothes for this program. This includes gym shorts, t-shirts with sleeves attached and comfortable gym shoes. It is very important for hygienic and safety reasons that students have appropriate attire. It may also be helpful to bring a change of clothes for your other classes for the day.
