Scholarship Opportunities: Scholarships for the 2022-2023 academic year have not been published yet. As soon as they start publishing them, you will be able to find all scholarship opportunities that are local and statewide posted on this page! Be sure to check back into this page often because new scholarships will be available as soon as they are released. 

The Chairish "Design Your Future" Scholarship: Award amount: $5,000: This scholarship is designed to support students from diverse backgrounds and students who are majoring in design-related fields such as architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and engineering fields. It is open to high school seniors, undergrads, and graduate students enrolled (or planning to enroll) at a 2- or 4-year college/university. 

Heisman High School ScholarshipsAward amount: $1,000 to $10,000: The Heisman High School Scholarship continues a 28-year tradition of honoring high school seniors who accomplish tremendous feats in the classroom, on the field, and most importantly, within their communities. The scholarship recognizes and rewards both male and female high school athletes who are community-minded and driven to use their exceptional talents for the benefit of all.

Trimble High School Class of 2002 Alumni Scholarship: This is for Trimble students only! Requirements: Student is looking to continue their education at a college/university or technical school, student has a minimum 3.0 GPA and have also completed volunteer hours in the Trimble Township. Application can be found in the students school email, printed copies in room 508 or on the school counselors page. Deadline: March 1st 2023

Rio Grande Red Storm Scholarship: If you are planning to attend Rio Grande then this scholarship is for you! Rio Grande offers more than 300 scholarship opportunities to support students in their educational endeavors. Many of these scholarships are provided through the kindness of Alumni and Friends of the university.  Students can  to apply for these opportunities through the beginning of Fall semester. However, priority will be given to those students who apply before the Priority Filing Deadline. Submitting an application does not guarantee a student will receive a scholarship. Priority Filing Deadline: January 15th 

OhioHealth Healthcare Scholars Program: OhioHealth is proud to partner with our local high schools to offer the OhioHealth Healthcare Scholars Program to graduating seniors. This program is designed to raise awareness of healthcare’s workforce critical need roles, make available the opportunity for high school graduates to pursue these careers for little to no out-of-pocket cost, and provide a pathway to a healthcare career. Students selected for the OhioHealth Healthcare Scholars Program will be hired as an OhioHealth associates for a part-time entry-level position. Please see attached flyer for more info on how to apply! Applications must be received by January 15, 2023.

Ohio JCI Senate Charitable and Education Foundation scholarship has three different scholarships available. You can only submit an application in 1 category. Applications must be received by January 13, 2023

Partners for Automated Vehicle Education (PAVE) just launched an essay contest and scholarship program, which encourages high school juniors and seniors to contemplate a future with automated vehicles – and write about what this could mean for their communities. Three geographically diverse U.S. locations will hold this first annual contest, and we are excited to announce that one of the locations is Southeast Ohio, specifically Athens and Vinton counties. High school juniors and seniors can visit the PAVE Essay Contest website to learn more about the contest. We will accept submissions through January 31, 2023. We are grateful for our contest sponsors, who are providing scholarship awards to the authors of the top three essays in each contest: 1st Place -  $2,500  2nd Place - $1,500  3rd Place -  $1000

The Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI) is a $40,000 scholarship program ($10K per year, for four years)  for students who plan to study STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs.) The American Chemistry Council has partnered alongside HBCU Week Foundation, American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), and Chemours to make the program possible. In addition to the scholarship, students will gain leadership development, mentoring and internship opportunities with program sponsors and access to AIChE student networking events. Application requirements are listed here. The application deadline is January 31, 2023.

2023 Hocking County 4-H Scholarship for Graduating Seniors: The requirements for this scholarship are (1) to be a graduating senior as of the calendar year the application (PDF form ) is made. (2) Have completed at least five years in Hocking County 4-H and be a current (2023) 4-H member. (3) Scholarship must be used in the next academic year (2023-2024). Printed copies of this application will be available in room 508 in the Porter Building.  This application is due to be submitted by 4 PM on February 24, 2023.

The Atomic Credit Union Scholarship has been established to recognize and assist students in need at high schools with student-run credit union branches, including Career Technology Centers, who desire to further their education. Scholarships in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) will be awarded and disbursed among our participating student run high schools. Additionally, two scholarships in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500) will be awarded to our membership at large. The applicant must be a 2023 graduating senior of a high school or technical school and have plans to enroll or be currently enrolled in an accredited school of higher education as a full-time student in the summer or fall of 2023. The applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. The applicant (student) must be a current member of Atomic Credit Union with the account being opened no later than December 31st, 2022. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is March 31, 2023.  Please click on the link to access the application form. 

The Harry B. Crewson Freshman Scholarship provides three $3,000 scholarships to high school seniors planning to attend Ohio University through an endowment with the Ohio University Foundation. Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2023. Applicants must be members or the children of members of OUCU. Website link: oucu.org

The Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Foundation Scholarship The Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) and the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Foundation (Foundation) are proud to provide scholarships to students pursuing careers in the natural gas and oil industry. Each scholarship is worth $1,000 per year with a total of four years of potential eligibility. Application deadline: March 1st 2023. Website link: oogeep.org

The Nelsonville Rotary Scholarship for undergraduate study, available to one student graduating from Nelsonville-York and one student graduating from Tri-County Career Center. The purpose of the scholarship program is to identify young people who have demonstrated leadership skills or show potential to be leaders and provide a chance to explore and develop those skills with others of similar capabilities. Students interested in the Rotary Scholarship should complete the application and return it to their school counselor by April 18, 2023.  Recipients of awards will be notified on or before May 1, 2023. The Builders Exchange Of Central Ohio Scholarship Since 1959 the BX Scholarship Program has been providing tuition assistance to students in need. If you are studying architecture, construction management, engineering or one of the many other fields of study that make up the broad community of commercial construction, we encourage you to apply for a scholarship. The IBI Group Scholarship In their ongoing support of higher education in southern and southeastern Ohio, IBI Group will award two, $1,500 scholarships to high school seniors for the 23rd consecutive year. IBI has an established presence in southern and southeastern Ohio. The goal of their scholarship program is to foster college participation. The Robert Stewart and Howard Latz Memorial Scholarship Athens AMVETS Post #76 is awarding five academic scholarships in the amounts of $3,000, $2,000, $1,000 and two for $500. The candidate must be a Athens High School senior and a son, daughter, step-son, step-daughter, or grandchild of a Veteran. Other requirements are listed on the application form linked above. Paper copies will also be available in room 508. Application materials are due no later than the first of May. The E.B. Miller Memorial Scholarship This program offers financial assistance to students pursuing a forest resource education. Currently, one or more scholarships are offered each year to Ohio high school graduates who have been accepted into an approved university, college, junior college or technical university offering a forest resource curriculum. The deadline for the 2023 E.B. Miller Memorial Scholarship is April 15, 2023. Website link: https://www.ohioforest.org 

The Ohio Gas Association Scholarship Scholarships are limited to undergraduate college studies, technical or trade school programs. Must have a career goal in the natural gas or related energy field. Applications are accepted between January 9th to March 31st 2023. Please see the website link for more information and a printable application form.

David V. Stivison Scholarship (COAD) To be eligible for this scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. Be a resident of the 30-county COAD service area for at least one year before the application deadline. 2. Reside in a household with a total annual income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. 3. Have obtained or will obtain a high school degree or GED. 4. Show proof of acceptance by an accredited 2-year or 4-¬year institution of higher education. Applications must be submitted to the appropriate COAD-member Community Action Agency that serves the county where the applicant resides. A directory of participating Community Action Agencies and the thirty counties they serve can be found on COAD’s website. Application forms can be found on the website linked above. Forms must be submitted by May 1st
