Welcome to the Electrical Trades Program. The student experience at Tri-County Career Center is a unique combination of textbook learning and real world hands-on experiences. We apply Science, Math and Communication Skills to career opportunities.
Required program fees include safety glasses, tool rental, workbook, technology and dues for our professional organization. The purchase of a tool kit for this program is not required. We strongly recommend the purchase of a tool kit for personal and school use. Purchasing a tool kit now makes it easier for the student to master many skills needed in the lab and on our job sites. A personal tool kit is also required by employers before a student can begin any early placement employment or full-time employment. The following options may be utilized for obtaining training tools.
1. Purchase tools from a local retail store (quotes provided below.)
2. Gather up tools from around your home and bring to school.
If you decide not to purchase a tool kit now, one can be rented from the program for $30.00 a year.

The student should also have a good pair of work boots (steel toes are strongly discouraged) and appropriate clothing for outside work during the winter months. Many students have found insulated coveralls to be a good solution.
